Earth, Wind & Fire have announced a new vinyl edition of Greatest Hits, marking the first time the compilation will be issued on vinyl in the United States.

Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings has made the 17-track collection available digitally, with the two-LP set scheduled for release Sept. 18. An aquamarine-colored edition will be offered exclusively through Amazon.

The two-record set spans 17 tracks that define the band’s commercial and artistic peak, offering a balanced mix of upbeat dance anthems and soulful ballads. Listeners can expect a tracklist loaded with certified classics such as “September”, “Let’s Groove”, “Boogie Wonderland”, “After The Love Has Gone”, “Fantasy” & “Shining Star”, alongside other essential tracks like “Reasons,” “Got to Get You Into My Life,” and “Getaway.” The collection serves as an accessible entry point for new listeners while remaining a high-quality staple for longtime vinyl collectors.

Founded by Maurice White, the band has sold more than 90 million records worldwide and recorded seven Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Current members Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson also recently celebrated the premiere of the Questlove-directed documentary Earth, Wind & Fire: To Be Celestial vs. That’s the Weight of the World, which debuted on HBO this month.

The announcement comes as the group continues a busy year. Earth, Wind & Fire are serving as Amazon Music’s Artist of the Month for June and are preparing additional releases arriving July 17, including new pressings of I Am, Open Our Eyes and That’s the Way of the World, along with the digital-only The Essential Earth, Wind & Fire Remixes.

The group remains active on the road as well, continuing its “Sing A Song All Night Long” tour with Lionel Richie while expanding its catalog with new physical and digital releases aimed at longtime fans and vinyl collectors.
